FSC
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council. This is a non-profit organisation that works to preserve forests around the world through responsible forest management, preventing entire forests from being cut down. Responsible forest management means respecting the rights of local people and forest workers are respected. FSC uses its own certification system, in which the entire supply chain must meet the label requirements.

PEFC
PEFC stands for Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. The PEFC did not create the requirements for forest management itself, but uses internationally established criteria endorsed by 149 countries. In addition to economical and ecological requirements, the PEFC also prescribes strict social conditions in respect of social working standards (International Labour Organization). The PEFC also assesses the entire supply chain.

EUTR
EUTR stands for the European Timber Regulation. This regulation prohibits the sale of illegally harvested timber. Since 3 March 2013, all companies within the EU involved with the trade in wood must comply with certain requirements. Companies that put the product on the European market for the first time have a duty of care to demonstrate that the product has not been illegally harvested or traded. EUTR also imposes requirements on companies further down the supply chain, such as mandatory record keeping on where the wood was purchased and to whom it was sold.
Tuindeco stores this data in its records for at leasts five years.

INDONESIAN LEGAL WOOD
FLEGT stands for Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade. Since 15 November 2016, all wood products imported into Europe which originate from Indonesia must comply with the FLEGT regulation. This includes being checked for legal logging and trade. In the Netherlands, the NVWA is the competent authority responsible for inspecting all incoming goods. With this certification, Tuindeco guarantees the legal origin of its products.

KOMO
The KOMO quality mark is issued by the Dutch Wood Inspection Agency (SKH), a foundation tasked with issuing quality certificates and supervising pressure treatment of wood. The wood treatment guidelines contain the requirements for treating agents, treatment processes and treated products. Tuindeco always treats wood in accordance with the latest guidelines. KOMO certification guarantees an environmentally responsible wood treatment process and a well-treated final product.

KIWA
KIWA provides insight into quality, safety, health, sustainability, efficiency and control, and as a result, confidence in delivered products. The certificates and reports are reliable proof of compliance with European laws and regulations. Tuindeco’s concrete products are KIWA certified.
